I know exactly when, for some reason. I actually don't know how.
Before all of this though, I got my start on SpaceHey, actually. In like. 2023. Initially, I had no actual clue what I was doing. I'd steal bits of code from layouts I liked, used one specific one as a base, and whenever I couldn't find the thing I wanted to edit in the stylesheet, I'd compare image links with the one to the background of the element I was looking to edit. Somehow I'd learn from this, and I guess it was mainly from looking stuff up. My first experience with W3Schools...
Eventually, middle school rolled around. I chose Computer Science Essentials for my elective, and while it WAS mainly just game-making stuff in Tynker, we DID eventually get into website making at the end of the year. I'd say this is where I learned most of my stuff. My first unpublished layout was decent, but it was really, really bad. It looked like a carrd site (as said by Sol of ultrakill.nekoweb). But I guess the second one, the first site I ever really published, was marginally better. I used a lot of gifs and images for div backgrounds, which made everything cluttered... but it had its charm, I guess.
My first site was called axelseum, I'm pretty sure. It was a name based off a mini-project I put together for CSE. I barely knew anything, and this was way before I even LEARNED about HTML/CSS in class. It had an image of Gunvolt on the index and some text saying stuff about when I updated the page and what I was trying to do.
A signifigant motivation was this Neocities site, aioi.neocities. I saw their site on SpaceHey, and I think this was actually my first experience with personal sites. IT WAS SO COOL TO ME AT THE TIME, I MADE MY OWN.
I registered my first site on 2024, January 31st.
